Amazing Places

One of my favorite things about EverQuest is exploring. I love the cool things we see on our travels. I get more shots of these, since usually I can find a moment when nothing is trying to kill me.

One of the most dramatic sights to be seen on the newly accessible moon of Luclin is Norrath rising and filling the sky. That's Aalolenya resting in the foreground. Luclin rises over the cliffs outside Firiona Vie as the last light of sunset fades.
The entrance to Blackburrow, the home of the Blackburrow Gnolls. Mizchiflover's favorite hunting ground (Illeanna's druid alt). The wooden bridge from the Northern Plains of Karana to East Karana.
The Stone Bridge, the last outpost of the Qeynos guard and the gateway to Southern Karana. Near the entrance to the Stone Bridge guard tower is a set of teleportation spires, remnants of the ancient and barely remembered Combine Empire.
The blighted landscape of the Lavastorm Mountains. Adventurers must travel through this evil land to get to the lair of Lord Nagafen, a fierce dragon.
Iksar statues are clearly visible from the seawall surrounding Firiona Vie. A chilling reminder of the unfriendly neighbors closeby. The windmill, a prominent landmark near the Lake of Ill Omen.
The Sarnak Fortress at the Lake of Ill Omen. We spent our share of time fighting at this fort. The rear entrance to the Sarnak fort. A little easier to fight your way in from here.
Mizchiflover watches the setting sun from the deck of one of the shuttles. The beautiful autumn-like colors of the trees in the Lost Valley, just outside the Dreadlands
A goblin stands amidst some ruins in Warslik's Woods on the continent of Kunark. Evidence of the grandeur of the once mighty Iksar Empire can be found where ever you travel in Kunark. The statues are everywhere.
Another view of these massive stone iksar sentinels that stand beneath a crumbling ancient bridge. The view across the bridge to a goblin encampment in the old iksar ruins. The statues can be seen below.
The glowing waterfall that masks the entrance to Thurgadin, the city of the coldain dwarves of Velious. Its really beautiful at night. Kilmore peers out through the waterfall from the entrance to Thurgadin.
A frightening dragon statue peers down from one of the teleportation rings on the frozen continent of Velious. Magical travel to Velious often involves using one of these imposing looking structures. Like the place wasn't already scary enough.
Ry'Gorr Orc guards patrol the velium walkways that crisscross the Crystal Caverns. A Giant Fortress in the mountains of the Great Divide, that separate the Eastern and Western portions of the continent of Velious.
The Graitspaigne, or Great Span Bridge that connects the largest of the Icy Finger islands in the Iceclad Ocean to the Eastern Wastes. For scale, those Frost Giant guards at the bridge entrance are about two stories tall. Sunset viewed from the Great Span Bridge.
A huge dragon skull mysteriously displayed in Velious. Caverns in Warslik's Woods, teeming with Iksar Bandits.
The moon rises behind a barbarian fishing village in the Northern Desert of Ro. A desert sunset viewed over the ocean from the Oasis of Marr.
The Outpost, a fortified settlement of evil races in an area called The Overthere, on the continent of Kunark. Evil characters are "unwelcome" in Firiona Vie, so those who wish to explore the wild continent usually start here. A platoon of undead marines guards the outpost while more skeletal servants are used to build ships.
The undead marines get some help guarding the settlement by this enormous golem. The entrance to the the Skyfire Mountains.
In a forgotten catacomb beneath the Field of Bone in Kunark, I found this menacing-looking throne in an empty throneroom. Our group prepares to explore the ruins of Kaesora.
In the Eastern Wastes, a frigid lonely corner of the continent of Velious, we found a strange dragon shrine... ...and we found a similar shrine in the barren lava-scarred Skyfire Mountains in Kunark.
An outpost of the ancient Combine Empire in the autumnal Lost Valley area of the Dreadlands. Now the area is populated only by the undead. Zeale weaves magical energies in Hollowshade Moor on Luclin, with Norrath clearly in view in the night sky.
